Baking session 2- muffins

This time round, i decided to try my hands on muffins instead. Start small, then venture on to bigger ones...ha ha.

I decided to bake strawberry banana muffins. Went shopping with Chris and Jayven in Ntuc. Bought a box of strawberry, a bunch of delmonte bananas-Chris will finish the rest (4 left) of the bananas since i only need 2 bananas

All set to bake my muffins. I followed the recipe from the web. Well, i mashed the bananas, whisk the sugar and eggs, melted the butter, cut the strawberries. QQ also get a share of the strawberries. After whisking the eggs, sugar and butter, i have to mix the wet ingredients with the flour mixture. I stirred to mix them but it seemed that the flour is still in lumps, so i keep stirring.
Finally i scooped the mixture into the muffins cup, mangaed to bake 8 muffins.
Placed them into the oven for baking. After 25 minutes, the muffins did not look like those you can get from the shop. The top looks a bit hard but the inside looks ok.
My tasters: Mummy, Daddy, Chris and QQ find it tasty. Ignoring the appearance, they tasted ok...Wonder what went wrong ...

Baking session 1

I decided to try my hand on baking after so many years. Realised that my oven has been left there for too long and getting a bit rusty if i don't start baking. Feeling very excited, i went about to buy all the ingredients to make a sponge cream cake...haiz but i didn't manage to get the vanilla essence. No choice, i got to postpone the cake making to tomorrow.

Finally got all the ingredients, i can start baking liao. All went well. See the cake :

However, when it came to whipping the cream, the cream failed. I used spray can whipped cream. It became more watery the more i whipped it. Inexperienced baker.. so end up i only have a sponge cake without cream. Decided to distribute to my mummy, daddy and Chris to finish up the cake....

I shall not give up...seek advice from friend on the type of whip cream to use ...Will try again another day....

New toys

Jayven has some new toys. Chris bought him a 'Shine in the dark lamp' which fully captivated Jayven's attention and managed to lull him and mummy to sleep. The other toy is the caterpillar that Grandma bought. Another new addition is the blown up Pooh bear bpught by Chris. Then he added another one-Spongebob square pants.then another Doraemon....and another Spiderman. Grandma also added to the collection with Spiderman.

Recently, i discovered that Jayven has a new found toy which is free. After putting Jayven to bed for some time, i heard some suckling noises coming from the cot. Out of curiosity, i went to have a look. Well, Jayven is awake and he is sucking his hand. The way he sucks on his hand makes me want to salivate. His hand seems very delicious so i decided to call it-chicken-bon-bon. Nowadays, he keeps sucking his hand. I really wonder how delicious it is. Maybe it tastes like chicken drumstick or looks like one.

Jayen enjoys looking at the pictures of the chicken and duck on the wall. He will look at them and suck his hand. So maybe he thinks he is really eating a drumstick.

Shopping trip to West Mall

We were out again to the clinic…Oh oh.
I was happily cuddled up in mummy’s arm when I heard the all familiar sound of the doctor..
She poked my heel and ouch it was painful. I cried and mummy tried to calm me down with the mobile that was hanging in the room. I don’t want to be poked. Doctor said blood flow too slow and then poked my hand again. Pain! Ouch! Mummy was heartbroken..
Then mummy carried me to the air-con room again…. and I started to suckle with music in the background.

Grandma and Daddy were heartbroken to hear me being poked. Once in the car, I dozed off to sleep again. I heard daddy and mummy saying that they were going to West Mall.Yeah!
We reached. In the pram I lay. We went to Singtel and mummy bought her Iphone, while grandma pushed me around. While daddy was paying, mummy and grandma went shopping with me.

We then went to Sakae to have lunch. I was still sleeping but the noise and smell of the food woke me up.Hungry!!!!Mummy and grandma had to push me to the nursing room to feed me….
Then we went shopping at Tom And Stephanie. Grandma and mummy chose some rompers for me. Grandma then bought me rompers and a mobile – caterpillar that I liked very much . The legs can move and there is music also. It can also move its eyes.

After paying, that marks the end of my shopping trip….Looking forward to the next shopping trip…..

Injection time

The day has finally arrived! Jayven needs to go for his first jab. I was worried of coz..
Jayven seemed very happy that morning, oblivious to the fact that he was going to 'poke' later. He was happy to be dressed up thinking he was going shopping.

Well, as usual, he was sleeping throughout the journey to the polyclinic. Even after we stepped into the clinic and was waiting for his turn, Jayven was still in self denial. He refused to open his eyes, closing them tighter even when we tried to wake him up. He did try to peek a little though..

It was only when he heard the cries of another baby, that he opened his eyes with a frown on his face. Every baby who entered the room will come out crying. Chris was debating whether he should be going in with me when the number flashed. Finally, it was Jayven's turn. Haha, Chris had no choice as both parents are allowed into the room.

Upon entering, Jayven started to open his eyes and was getting restless.. He knew the moment has arrived. The nurse took his height and weight. It seemed that he has shrank in size... His measurement did not tally with the ones taken at the padaetrician a few days back. The nurse asked if she could speak in English as she is more eloquent in it.
Oh common on, i can understand lah. I am bilingual lah. The nurse started explaining about the immunization package in English, which she spoke with much difficulty.

I took his rattle and tried to entertain him while listening, hoping the nurse could just do it right now... Rattle is not useful now, as he knew that the jab is coming soon. I am the cruel one to bring him to the nurse for the jab. I hated the needle myself and i couldn't bear to see the needle poking into his left thigh.

The nurse spoke coldly: Hold his hand and his leg down firmly.
Never see someone so cold before. Maybe that's the difference between private and govt. clinic. Without further ado, she 'poke' the needle in and Jayven scream!!!Nobody can stop him wailing now. No amount of rocking, rattle can settle him down now. It hurts to see him cry so bitterly.. he did not stop until he was fed.... the stopper to his cries.

See the red bump on his thigh.
That ends one episode of his immunisation. That's more to come.
Awaiting the next episode soon...

Facial Time

At this age, Jayven already knows about skin care. He really loves bath time and he loves doing FACIAL! Everytime, i do facial for him, he will grin and chuckle away. Next time we can go for facial together, charged to Daddy's account. haha

Jayven loves to rub his face and eyes when he is sleepy and irritated. As such, he has successfully joined me in the family of panda-he is called Red eye panda. His eye has become red and swollen because of his constant rubbing.

Making his1st appearance

Blog.. blog... keep hearing it, but yet to bring myself to start to do it. Finally decided to get down to it 2 months after Jayven was borned.

A new milestone for me, mummy. Now i am a Mummy. Learning to take care of precious little Jayven was no easy task. That's why i can only start blogging now.. haha excuses.

Jayven was so adorable when he first made his appearance in September. That marks the start of my 'Panda' eyes. Looking at him smile, it's worth all the 'Panda' eyes.

He is so quick tempered and needs to be fed immediately ( i really mean immediately) when he is hungry. Otherwise, he will wail his head off as if he is been abused. After 'battling' with him, he fell asleep after he is satisfied from his feed. What a boy! He really amazed me, waking up in the wee hours of the night, wanting to be fed. That's how i get to enjoy the cool morning breeze and the scenery of the early morning.
