Injection time

The day has finally arrived! Jayven needs to go for his first jab. I was worried of coz..
Jayven seemed very happy that morning, oblivious to the fact that he was going to 'poke' later. He was happy to be dressed up thinking he was going shopping.

Well, as usual, he was sleeping throughout the journey to the polyclinic. Even after we stepped into the clinic and was waiting for his turn, Jayven was still in self denial. He refused to open his eyes, closing them tighter even when we tried to wake him up. He did try to peek a little though..

It was only when he heard the cries of another baby, that he opened his eyes with a frown on his face. Every baby who entered the room will come out crying. Chris was debating whether he should be going in with me when the number flashed. Finally, it was Jayven's turn. Haha, Chris had no choice as both parents are allowed into the room.

Upon entering, Jayven started to open his eyes and was getting restless.. He knew the moment has arrived. The nurse took his height and weight. It seemed that he has shrank in size... His measurement did not tally with the ones taken at the padaetrician a few days back. The nurse asked if she could speak in English as she is more eloquent in it.
Oh common on, i can understand lah. I am bilingual lah. The nurse started explaining about the immunization package in English, which she spoke with much difficulty.

I took his rattle and tried to entertain him while listening, hoping the nurse could just do it right now... Rattle is not useful now, as he knew that the jab is coming soon. I am the cruel one to bring him to the nurse for the jab. I hated the needle myself and i couldn't bear to see the needle poking into his left thigh.

The nurse spoke coldly: Hold his hand and his leg down firmly.
Never see someone so cold before. Maybe that's the difference between private and govt. clinic. Without further ado, she 'poke' the needle in and Jayven scream!!!Nobody can stop him wailing now. No amount of rocking, rattle can settle him down now. It hurts to see him cry so bitterly.. he did not stop until he was fed.... the stopper to his cries.

See the red bump on his thigh.
That ends one episode of his immunisation. That's more to come.
Awaiting the next episode soon...
